Why do the simpsons always portray religious events or symbols?

It's as if in every episode I watch, they are making fun of religion and religion is being portrayed.

There are other kinds of things The Simpsons use also, such as race creating yellow characters and different ones with different hairdo's. Different classes of people such as dumb and poor Homer to rich and crazy Mr. Burns. The Simpsons appeal to different cultures makes every viewer relate to at least one character on the show. Simpson is similar to the more provocative South Park where they have no limits to the contents of the show. South Park has returning characters such as Jesus, the sad older nonchalant man... and the Devil who is gay and has relations with Saddam Hussein. Personally, I feel this type of TV corrupts young children and is offensively silly, lol. There should be a limit on the silliest, idiotic, and abnormal acting shoes, just as there with other explicit content. Its even spreading to the Cartoon Network and Disney. Hail PBS!
