Sure, the Earth has more than enough potential energy to do it.

Go to your favorite search engine and research "the great dying," "Deccan traps," and "Permian extinction." In a nutshell: 251 million years ago, the Earth underwent a 10,000-year cataclysm in which supervolcanoes erupted more or less continuously. By the time they stopped, 99% of ALL LIFE on the planet was destroyed.

There is some debate over whether this event was or was not triggered by an asteroid impact, like the Chicxulub impact 65 million years ago which led to the extinction of the dinosaurs. One group of geologists believes that there is evidence (shocked quartz, an impact crater, and more) pointing to a HUGE impact east of Australia. The problem is that because this happened a quarter of a billion years ago, there's been a lot of erosion, plate movement, and other activity that's degraded the area, plus it's at the bottom of the sea now.

But whether there was an asteroid hit or not, the geological evidence is clear that there was a "supervolcano" eruption in the area that is now Siberia, which covered most of eastern Asia with basalt for a full 10,000 years. All the time this was going on, the volcanoes were filling the air with ash and CO2, which both raised the surface temperature of the planet and blocked sunlight, causing the death of phytoplankton and land plants. The plants died; the plant-eaters starved; the meat-eaters had no plant-eaters to feed on; and eventually, 99% of all life dies and 99% of all species become extinct.

So whether or not this would be "the end of the world," it would probably make it tough to get cash from your ATM for a while.

Ask the animals they seem to know when disaster is coming upon the Earth. Notice right before and earthquake wild animals become freindly and domestics want to run.
When you see Yellowstone void of all animal life, get out of dodge. You will also smell faint scents of sulfer but probably won't notice it in time to outrun it. The gov't says it wont happen but last weeks earthquake charts show some major shaking going on.
In January the fish in NC jubilee due to fluctuating oxygen levels and methane gas pockets, then in NYC a report of a cracked driveway, repaired and cracked again. California and Nevada have had increased activity and noticiable activity in Ohio again.
Earthquakes are predecessor warnings for volcanic eruptions. Do some research you'll learn alot.
I say by 2010 Yellowstone is gonna pop maybe sooner.

No the earth will not end.

Remember in Revelations it says that the clouds will be rolled back before all life is distroyed.

We are not all going to die. But, there will only be about 2 billion left.

It will not be by supervolcanoes. It will be by NUCLEAR bombs.
The second one will be used on September 12, 2006.

This is not the end but just the first big blow.

I think super volcanoes are more dangerous than anybody thinks. Yes it could happen, it would certainly cleanse the planet of the cultural problems that we are experiencing, which in one sense would be a good thing.
No these are not scare tactics, these are scientific facts so people wake up and smell the coffee.

There have always been natural disasters and there always will be, but the world keeps right on turning. I think this world will still be turrning until the sun burns out, and if I remember correctly, that will be many billion years from now. I think humans will become extinct due to overpopulation and the problems that it causes, and that that time is not so far away.

the world will never end until we are consumed by an expending sun as it turns into a red giant star. But the super volcanoes could end the society we know today. probably not all of human life, but alot of it.

The last time that it blew, it destroyed everything within a 750 mile radius. It didn't end the world but did a lot of damage within that area. Nothing survived.

"... all of us might desire to die to be sin loose as according to Romans 6:7......." - If this have been genuine, the Yeshua died in ineffective, because of the fact - as quickly as all of us die - we "are loose from sin", top? incorrect. Sin is the errors guy took after Adam's transgression. as quickly as the physique is burned, there exist no errors.
