ln e^6x = ln 8.
6x = ln 8.
x = (ln 8)/6.

I could be wrong.

e^(6x) = 8

LN( e^(6x) ) = LN8
(6x)LN(e)=LN8
(6x)(1)=LN8
x=(LN8)/6
