yES i totally agree with you. in reality, its the questions that keep yahoo answers alive and going. without questions there are no answers, so no yahoo answers. ppl should be rewarded for submitting a question...

In a way I do. Ithink you should get 5 points taken away for asking a question, but I think if the persons answer to the question doesn't have anything to do with the question I don't think they should get the 2 points. To save your points ask more than one question in the question box. You will save points and get your qustions answered.

Nah. If you received points for asking a question, there would be nonstop questions.
I imagine the deduction is to somewhat restrain people from going question crazy. And there would be less decent questions.
And you don't GET 5 points for answering. 2 is decent for answering.

i disagree with you. If they gave you points for asking questions then people would ask stupid questions just to get points. Also, I think it helps that you get points for answering instead of questioning, that way people will answer more questions and the people that asked them will get more answers and have a better chance of getting the right answer.
TIP: if you select the best answer for your questions rather than letting them go into voting, then you will get 3 points back.

I agree but then again, there would be way too many stupid questions, if you get 2 points for answering and 5 for asking then why would anyone answer they would all just ask.

If you get points for asking a question and there's stupid questions on here now, can you even imagine the questions that would be posted just for the points?

Well I guess they do it so people will answer more questions than they ask. Maybe you shouldn't lose any points for asking a question.
