I know it all too well...It took me 8 months to find a job once. I have a college degree and a solid work background, it's not like I'm some slacker or anything. It's hard

Yep, it is who you know, not what you know.

You have to know somebody, who knows somebody, who knows somebody, who died. In order to get a job around the town I live in.

Now anyone can get a job at McDonald's, Walmart, or a convenience store to hold them over until they can get the kind of job that they want and are qualified for. But most people think they are 'above" working at places like that.
Well, hate to tell ya but you gotta do, what ya gotta do, in order to survive.

I agree with Bush Whacker . . getting a job in this time is definitely dependent on who you know . . I have a friend who is in the same predicament as you . . a highly qualified military police officer . . no marks on their record anywhere . . but hasn't been able to get a job for the past 2 years . . .

Excuses, excuses, excuses.
There are plenty of jobs out there. However, some people find the work not good enough for them. Like working at McDonalds.
Is this you???
