Sure he sounded for real. He is an actor, but he is a scientologist first. I guess all that matters it that she believed him.

Brooke Shields says Tom Cruise has apologized for publicly criticizing her use of antidepressants after the birth of her first daughter.

The two had a public beef last year after the "Mission: Impossible III" star, echoing the position of Scientology, said in an appearance on NBC's "Today" show that depression can be treated with exercise and vitamins rather than drugs.

Who cares if she's naive or not? at least she has half decent manners. How incredibly rude it would be to refuse to accept an apology, especially when you're in the public eye.

Tom Cruise is an a**. What the h*ll does he know about post partum depression. The hormonal changes that women go through after childbirth can be excruciating. His a** will never know because he's a guy. He should have kept his mouth shut about something he knows nothing about. He is an arrogant pr*ck. He only appologized because he doesn't want to lose his slew of female fans. That would mean $$ not going into his bank account. God forbid. Not every hormonal situation can be fixed with exercise and vitamins. If that were the case, women wouldn't suffer from PMS. Believe me, if there was a cure all to hormonal problems in women, we'de all be on the band wagon and no woman would suffer from it. We definately don't enjoy being hormonal. Exercise can HELP depression, not cure it. It is a chemical imbalance in the brain, not the body per say. And Tom Cruise is an a**. She is just a forgiving person. She understood that there was no way he knew what he was talking about. She probably chucked it off as his ignorance. lol

She had to accept his apology and say those things for the media, to make an end to the whole story. Of course she knows that he is full of sh**! But why continue the dirty battle in the media? So that the magazines can make more money? No, she was better of saying that his apology was heartfelt and be done with it. Why bother listening to that gnome in the first place. Tom Cruise is soooo over!!!!

Anyone float the idea that the whole thing was a set up to get cheap publicity for BOTH? After all, what has Brook done lately? At any rate, if she rejects his apology publically, then how wold she look? I don't buy most of what celebs say.

I think she is naive for believing Tom Cruise's apology. He is trying to gain positive publicity after being let go from Paramount pictures. Obviously he has not changed his opinion so why apologize if he thinks he is right?
It is definitely something to ponder.

I'm sure his agent told him the major studios were no longer calling him for roles. His apology was just a ploy to make him look like he cared about those suffering from depression. I do not believe he is genuine in any way.

I don't even understand why this makes the news. There are wars, droughts, plagues, and starvation going on all over the world. Society is so backwards.

I believe he only apologized to help boost his faltering public image. And I believe Brooke knows that, but is not going to say anything. She is more adult than that.

Well if he truly apologized - I don't believe it. He must be trying to repair the damage he has done to his career with all the weird things he has said and done.

She's the bigger person. The only one she hurts by holding a grudge is herself. Tom has revealed his true colors - good luck to Katie, she's going to need it.
