You are pretty smart my friend. Finally an American who is not blind! Yes, they are lowering the prices of the oil so the "American People" or as they are calling those who oppose their regime "Nazis" are happy once again. They could have done this all along but instead they wait only 60 something days to do it, right around election time. What they need to do is impeach the bastar d criminals.

properly, a in demand protection tension makes use of a /lot/ of petroleum products, extraordinarily in an invasion, so i'm specific it became a important undertaking. Any revenue reaped by ability of oil agencies from contracts in Iraq would be miniscule in comparison to the expenses of the conflict. the actual place oil performs is as a strategic source. united statesa. has no decision yet to maintain a solid protection tension presence interior the middle east, to gaurantee that's supply of oil. because of the fact, with out that provide, that's protection tension might could be often undercut. ahead of the 2nd Iraq conflict, that presence lined Saudi Arabia. that's been moved to Iraq.

Politics!
They have always played dirty, and the Oil Industry sure wants a Republican in power!! They are afraid they may have to pay more than their 2 to 4% taxes on their profits as they do now, while they gouge us!
It is a common political trick as voters basically are stupid!
When our city budget comes out they might want a 5% increase, but the people get it down to 4%, which is what the city wanted anyway. The city gets what they wanted And the electorate, who were idiots. think they actually saved money and are happy to pay what the city wanted anyway!
Sort-of Bait and Switch! Politically speaking!
All the companies, like the electric suppliers, do the same thing!

The oil company execs. control the price of gasoline, Opec and the oil producing nations control the price of crude oil. Speculators in the market force oil prices higher for profit increases, politicians have very little control except on regulations, taxes, and negotiating with other countries who are outside Opec and try to glut the market.

The current administration from day 1 has played the American people for their profit.
They fill their pockets and their friends pockets and make policy as it suits them.
The gas prices, terrorism, Christianity, abortion, gay marriage....these are just some of the things they pull out of their butts when they need to pull us back in line.
One more year & this will be over. I just feel sorry for whoever is the next President. He/She will have a really big mess to try and clean up.

So now Bush controls OPEC? It must be because of his close relationship with Hugo Chavez.
About 3 weeks ago I informed this forum that prices of oil would be declining. OPEC had a meeting and the Saudi Oil minister stated he is seeking a reduction in the price of oil to about 40 dollars a barrel. Maybe Bush put pressure on him, I dunno, but it doesn't seem like the rest of OPEC would eagerly go along with it. And maybe, just maybe, oil prices soared in response to 9/11 and the Iraq War.

Since the President has no control over the price of oil you suspisions are really a waste of your time. I'm going to knock on wood, but by last year this time we were well past the letter K. This year is more like our normal years, and we have just finish with the wimp ernesto. The oil prices don't just jump when its in season, it helps with there are deadly hurricane in the gulf. We had our share the last two years, that is for sure.

Perhaps but oil prices usually spike during the summer due to driving vacations and then come back down in the fall.

Tell me, since you're a expert on this, just WHO are the all the President's "oil buddies"? No names appear in the news, so I guess they're laying low, and you apparently can't name ONE. And don't bother to say Halliburton. All the liberals like to yammer about that even though Dick Cheney left the firm six years ago and President Bush never had anything to do with them.
