I am wonder why Mr. or Mrs. Gerbil need a shampoo?
Generally, they are pretty clean lil' critters & go all of their lives with out meeting Mr. Bubbles! Thinking of the incredible mind fright this may cause the lil' thing... chances are good that it's teeth might seek your flesh!

If your little Gerbil friend some how crossed paths with a skunk, I would just let time remove the smell... Should it be way too over powering or your having dinner with a new date, I'd try cleaning it with a wet wipe or something of that nature.

A smelly gerbil... humm... interesting!

Give them a sand bath!!! They just crawl in their "bath"and roll around in the sand for a few seconds and it does wonders for their coats. They sell the supplies at the pet store and they LOVE IT! It actually imitates the gerbil's natural instincts in the wild, so it makes them really happy. PLEASE don't try to actually give it a bath with water...they will not appreciate it and you run the risk of them drowning, or getting soap in their eyes (or swallowing it).

Also, if you only have one gerbil, it might be beneficial to get a second. The gerbils will groom each other and they will be happier.

yes, but I kinda advised you give them a dust bath. Like chinchillas or degus. But they may smell worse if you give them a regular bath. But I am guessing but I will look that up so I can give you accurate information. yes they do take sand baths ocasionally. So yeah, get some chinchilla sand bath, put the sand bath in a small/medium container, big enough so you can put the gerbil in there and so you can get your hands in there, and put the gebil in there. Then you pile the sand on the gerbil and smother him/her basically. But that is what I advise.

u could but u really shouldnt b/c that would be torturing the gerbil b/c most of them dont like water. gerbils clean themselves so i dont know y u would even need to give it a bath. just leave it alone and let it take care of itself. u want ur pet to like u...and if u torture it...it will not like u too much.

I don't think it is the best idea. The gerbil won't like it. I'm not sure if it is good for him either.

Sure, after you tape his mouth closed so he can't bite. Towel and blow dry it to avoid his getting a cold.
