I konw it is some kind of rodent, but is about the size of a bulldog. I have one living in a swampy ares by my house. It has a tail about 4 in long with a face that looks like a muskrat.

the only nugent I've ever heard of is Ted... and the only rodent I've ever heard of thats as big as a bulldog is a cappybarra

A nugent is a form of ted, often found in swampy forests. A nutria is a non-native large aquatic rodent imported to control vegetation in lakes and ponds.
I'm not a fan of either.

Maybe you mean nutria? Kind of like a big muskrat - they are an invasive species and cause a lot of damage to wetlands.
