Yes, but as long as the left wing TV media, together with the government and other assorted lefties, such as university lecturers, keep the lie going, nothing will change. They still like to play the guilt card, even though that particular excuse should have been put to bed many years ago. Always remember, that the 'left' need victim groups, even if they have to invent them, to justify their naive behaviour.

... but how much worse would it have been without all that aid? Traditionally charities have tried to solve all the problems, but this has always proven too difficult. Now the focus is on developing ways for the people to move themselves forward, to solve their problems in their own ways. Education is the key. Much of the money put into Africa in the 60's was loans, and this has caused further problems.

Being a citizen from an advantaged country, like the US, we can hardly imagine what it is like to live in a Third World country where disease and starvation run rampant. If you feel that way, you should consider supporting some children through a group, like my husband and I do, called Plan USA. The money we give goes to help our sponsored children, their families and communities build schools, homes, hospitals, clinics, drill wells, teach life skills, etc. God bless!

no aid given to corrupt governments holds the countrys back. Aid given to extremely helpful charities like wateraid really help africa its people where its needed; water provsion and sanitation plus hygiene education.
but what really really holds africa back, is debts being serviced to western countries and unfair trade to western countries
