Depends on how much water got on. I have a bit of a history of spilling liquids on my phone (fanta, water etc..), and sometimes they dry out in a couple of days and sometimes they don't (the fanta didn't!!!) Try taking the battery, or sim card out and drying it, not sure if that will work, but its worth a try! Its prpbably best just to wait and see if it recovers in the next few days. If not, its the perfect excuse to get a new phone!!

theres nothing u can do about it. as soon as your phone gets wet u should take the battery out and let it sit for about 2-3 days. that works most of the times. dont try the hairdryer or the microwave you'll just burn the poor phone

well by turning it on when it was wet u have maybe blown the circuits but try this any way my daughters lg on three network fell in the bath ; we took out the battery and sim wrapped both in absorbant paper kitchen roll or toilet paper will do, then dry the phone with absorbant paper shaking it a lot to get any liquid out of the components especially near where you put the charger then took a hairdryer on low heat setting and started to blow the warm air over it all around it paying attention to the keyboards and battery areas having done this for m10 mins we then completely wrapped it in toilet roll and place it by a fan changing the paper evry mso often if it was damp giving it a good shake before re wrapping we left it for 24hours then replaced the sim and battery and put it on charge as being immersed in water fully dicharges your battery so it needs a full recharge. and everything was functional on hers after that. my friends took 2days drying out. but as i said before you could have blown the circuits by turning it on when it wet never switch aphone on if it has been dropped in liquid just follow the steps above. but if it was sea water i,m afraid there prob nothing you can do even if you immurse it in distilled water salt water will corode all your components in the phone and killl the battery but if like my daughters it was clean water then you have a hope of it surviving.PLEASE NOTE when i said we used a hairdryer it was on a cool seting as extreems of heat and cold willl damage the phone but gentle drying on a cool setting not directly on the phone will be ok DO NOT PLACE IN MICROWAVE EVER;and never place it in direct sunlight or on hot radiator, the way i told you above worked on her lg and my friends nokia so hope it helps

Live it's dry and don't forget to take battery out. My mobile by accident went through half cycle in the washing machine. After 3-4 days when it was dry again it worked perfectly fine

As most people have said take it apart as much as you can and leave it to dry out but also try changing the battery as the second moisture hits any battery it dies so give it a go.... good luck i must have lost loads of phones this way mainly in my back pocket of my jeans as i go to the loo!

Don't put harsh heat on it - a hairdryer will make it worse. In the short term, some gentle heat MIGHT work, but if the internal components are wet, they will rust over time, and more and more faults will develop. If I were you, I'd cut my losses and replace it now.

You drowned it! Try leaving it on a radiator to dry out for a few days. Don't try taking it apart and using a hairdryer. If it fails to dry out and function then see if you can get it replaced on insurance - either house or phone insurance if you have it.

try the MacGyver Tip: Dry out your soaked gadget in rice... A Washington placed up reporter who by twist of fate dropped his Blackberry interior the lavatory became able to retrieve it and dry it out to working order returned: with the help of leaving it grew to become off in a bowl of uncooked rice. Reader Chris writes in to declare: there's a grain of reality (punny, huh?) to this in that rice quickly sucks up the encircling moisture. be certain the ambience is loose from extra humidity, drop the moist gadget in a field of rice and permit it take a seat. For a extra suited desiccant, it could be a stable thought to save all those little silica gel packets that are available in something from shoe bins to moisture-comfortable contraptions...

Take out the battery. Dont try to switch it on again. Put it in the airing cupboard/drying cupboard for a week. Then put the battery in, and pray for redemption.
