I think is is both...there are some people who who ask and answer stupid things for kicks. Yet there are some people who take your questions seriously and answer it seriously. In all, I think it is a good thing. The majority of people have opinions based on their truth, which does not necessarily agree with your truth.
It is bad, in the way you only have limited amount of space to ask your question and give details. If there was more space allowed the person viewing the question would have a lot more detail to work with.
The bottom line though, its a cheap way to get some intelligent answers. The questions go all over the world, some people have no life experiences, so give their opinions ***** nilly, but some people are experienced and qualified in a lot of things. I am 52 years old...I have my Batchelor of Social Sciences, a Degrees in Drug and Alcohol counselling, mental health issues and lots of other welfare related certificates. I have worked with street kids, had to deal with suicide many times, and been in the welfare sector for the last 30 years. I have been through a terrible divorce...I have seen practically everything there is to see about life both personally and professionally. I am not the only person with experience and qualifications to answer questions intelligently in this world, so I would say Yahoo Answers is a good thing.....you just have to take the answers and categorize them into the ones that are doing it for kicks, the ones who are young and just giving their opinions, or the others with life experience/education/qualifications, and apply it to your own situation. You never know something said could have a real impact on your problem and could help you make a life changing decision.

I see some very honest questions being asked on here. Then I see some really stupid ones.
I see some good answers coming from people trying to help.
Then I see the idiots crawling out of the woodwork.
So I guess good and bad, I am afraid bad will win and Yahoo will be sued someday.

Personally I think it's 90% good answers, but the 10% bad answers really scare me. Some of the advice is very suspect, with people trying to sell products and promote web pages.

Both.
Example?
Good > because so many ppl ask Q, and ppl likes to post their answer for the Q.
Bad > because some ppl ask foolish Q. like you. and ppls get bored to answer that.
