I am of the opinion that the music industry is far too image based in today's world for Janis Joplin to ever be famous in the post MTV era. Your opinions?

As much as I hate to say it - No. Unfortunately women have to be extremely attractive and thin to make it in the visually based female portion of the music industry today. She was average looking and I think she liked it that way. Men do not have to hold up to these standards. Their music can still speak for itself.

Janis Joplin was unique and would be every bit as successful today as she was in the '60's. Unlike you, I think there are so many different kinds of music and images these days, it'd be certain she'd find a place.

Um...sadly, no, her talent would be passed on.

Theyve got todays people so spoonfed and brainwashed people would be saying how much Brittany Spears or Jessica Simpson or some lame crap band like AFI or All American Clone Rejects were sooooooo much better.

(Barf).

People today wouldnt appreciate real talent if it came up and bit them on the ***. Of that, there cannot be a SHRED of doubt.

Yes, there are still enough of us old hippies around to listen to her. Have you heard of Joss Stone? Love her. A young rising star that sounds alot like her.
