I am planning to setup a new server machine based on Microsoft Windows 2003 server, but I am not sure to install which AntiVirus to better protect the resources from getting infected. Will it be better to use Norton solutions or McAfee, and which version of both are availble for Microsoft Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition(SP1)?

hi,perhaps you can try Norton or Mcafee to remove the virus, but you should pay for the software.
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

I use Windows 2003 (when I use Windows - Linux is a better server OS) and I don't use any anti-virus software suites. Although, I do use some smaller tools sometimes. Here's a useful site:

If it's just a server, just don't run any program that could possibly be harmful. I wouldn't want to waste ram on Norton or McAfee. But you you feel you must, they both work on 2003. As far as viruses are concerned, Windows 2003 works the same way as XP.

both are available for Server 2003 and both come in an Enterprise version. Both can be configured to have the clients(workstations) updated from a central location. It's a matter of personal preference and who can give you the best price.
I personally use Norton but have supported MacAfee in the past.

There are a lot of AntiVirus programs and it's just a personal preference as to which you use. I use Norton, which a lot of people think is a terrible antivirus, but I have always had good experiences with it.
