Those are kamikaze mice...they are dive bombing your deck to distract you and your cats away from the army of mice that are at this very moment, tunneling in under your basement, in an attempt to reach your wine cellar.
Or...at least that's what I trained the army of mice to do.

That's probably not what is happening. Our cats would often go hunting and then line up their kills on our doorstep as if to say "Look what I did. Aren't I a great hunter?" My dad used to throw the bodies out into the field. Sometimes if the cats were around, they would fetch them back, like a dog after a stick.
If your cats are really becoming disturbed, perhaps another cat is doing this as a show of territorial possession and they are reacting to the other cat's presence.

How do dead mice on your porch bother your cats?
Do your cats go outside? They could be bringing them home as a present...just be glad they are leaving them on the porch and not your couch!
They could have been poisoned. Mice/rats who eat poison will usually try to find water. If you suspect they are poisoned...don't let your cats near them

Hummmmm..... That is a very good Question! I might suggest you take one to your Vets and have it checked out for some type of poisoning. It could be a disease, also.
Don't allow you Cats or Dogs to touch them. Use Surgical Gloves or a plastic Bag to pick them up.
Be very careful.

Your cats are probably bringing you the mice as presents. All cats do that, if they are able to go outside, that is. They'll bring you birds too, if they catch them.

Bother the cats? I think that if it is not your cats, then it is another cat trying to win the affection of you and/or your cats by bringing these offerings to your doorstep.
