I went to the Patriots/Redskins preseason game a couple of weeks ago (I'm a sports writer) and the 'Skins looked terrible. I know, I know, it's preseason. But they played their starters for 2 and a half quarters. Brunell looks washed up, the defense was atrocious. Without Portis, this team has no weapons.

Sorry. It might be a rough year for the D.C. faithful.

It's hard to tell based on the pre-season. The offense looked awful and even though its was a 'vanilla' offense, the o-line looked horrible and probably couldn't block my 6 month old daughter. Who knows when portis is coming back and Brunell is a year more brittle. The first team defense did not look all that impressive. If they don't get it together, its going to be a LONG season for skins fans.

9-7 is my guess, and every 5 years about two or three teams make the playoffs with that record, so just pray the nfc east has a down year
