No, you've got everything backwards
An electric bass will blow the speaker if it is plugged into a guitar amp.
Also, my buddy bought an old Kay hollowbody from a luthier, and he actually recommended plugging THAT into a bass amp.
Just don't stick your bass into a guitar amp or you will have issues.

Okay, I play a bass through a guitar amp at my underfunded high school, but I don't turn it up very loud, just loud enough to hear me, so if you work at a bass amp company we'd appreciate a donation.

No it shouldn't blow up unless you do something wrong or put too much current through it. It will be able to take lower frequencies than a "normal" guitar amp but normal playing of the guitar will probably sound distored because bass amps are made for picking up low frequencies from a bass not higher frequencies from a guitar.

no - one of the best combo's of all t ime is the 59 Fender Bassman with a Les Paul. On the other hand if you plug a bass guitar into a regular amp that might not be too swift

It actually makes a good guitar amp
my guitar player used a 1964 Fender Bassman
in the early 90's, it sounded pretty good, especially cranked up

if you have an electric acoustic guitar it sounds great, bass amps give more warmth to sound while guitar amps are more punchy and geared towards the treble side of things.

It shouldn't explode, but it might sound awful.
