My maple tree is about 6 feet tall, I planted it this spring and it was going fine all summer, gave new brnaches and was fine. But it's September now and I am not sure if my tree is sick or it is just changing leaf color for the fall. The leaves are faded lime and some tiny yellow, brown spots cover them...the leaves are rough to touch...but not dry though...
IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT?

Not there are no real big sports there...it's just that the color texture is uneven and faded

Do not fear! We are going to work together and diagnose that tree, dammit!
Now, this sounds kind of like phyllosticta (a funghi) - look at the picture and tell me if it looks like your leaves:
http://www.extension.umn.edu/yardandgarden/ygbriefs/p-maplephyllosticta.html
If so, "The spotting may appear unsightly, but rarely causes more than minor damage to the tree. If a well-established tree is significantly defoliated by a leaf spot infection in the spring, a new flush of leaves usually develops within a few weeks. Cultural methods such as mulching, proper watering, and fertilizing help minimize the occurrence and impact of fungal leaf spot diseases. Raking leaves in the fall and pruning dead or dying branches remove fungal material and help reduce new infections in the spring. In addition, thinning out excessive twig and branch growth promotes air circulation by reducing the amount of moisture present in the lower canopy. This, in turn, reduces the severity of disease. An inch of water supplied weekly during dry periods and early spring fertilization boosts vigor, so trees are better able to withstand the stress of leaf loss."
Another possibility is anthracnose, which has got to be one of the most common maple tree diseases:
"Symptoms on maple leaves include brown lesions that spread along the larger veins, circular brown to reddish brown spots with tan centers, and irregular blotches that kill large sections of a leaf."
If so, check out this site: http://www.treehelp.com/trees/maple/maple-diseases-anthracnose.asp
And here are some good pictures:

To be sure, check out "tar spots" as well:

If none of these seem like your case, we'll do some more poking around and see what else might be a factor.
Keep us updated!

Your tree could have spider mites, or another varmint. Also, make sure it's getting enough water. The maple tree will turn color in the fall, but it's a bit early unless you live up north. Call a local nursery and explain what it's doing, and they will be able to tell you.

It sounds that your Maple tree is the two death naturaly or it is only is ill. What different wood of flora do you have around the Maple. in case you have new flora or wood close to the maple they could rob the maple from its food.
