yeah he's great !
i've seen yesterday's match twice, and i still think both players were good. Except fot baghdatis who wasn't lucky enough with all the cramps... but he did a great job against Agassi...
and i don't think it was unfair for him to be 8th and play agassi.. it's just the fact that this last is unseeded, so he's gotta play against seeded players...

UNFAIR???? You must be on drugs, I respect Baghdatis and all, but he lost that match fair and square. The whole cramp thing was drawn out, he was showing no pain during the points and sometimes in between he wasn't doing anything, he was just getting ready for the serve. Yes he could have won, but think about this: Agassi, the 36 year old had no cramps. The 21 year old did however. That should never happen, it shows that even though he is one of the best currently, he needs to work on his fitness and endurance because late in the match, he wasn't playng the same. Anyways, unfair has nothing to do with it, i didn't see him complaining about playing Agassi. It all depends on where you drew in the table. You obviously LOVE baghdatis, but c'mon, you sound so silly saying it was unfair for an up and coming star to have to play a 36 year old man.

I think he's a terrific player with a good career ahead of him. The fact that he cramped is unfortunate, but not unfair. Agassi could have played him (or Federer, for that matter) in the 1st round, as he was unseeded for the tournament. Give credit where credit is due -Agassi won the match without doing anything unfair. I'm sure that Baghdatis could have won the match if he had won a few more points at crucial times -but on this particular night he didn't. He didn't deserve anything more -he got what he deserved, a lot of respect & a tough loss.

well baghdatis is a great player, and he might win against agassi if the cramp wasn't there, but I was cheering for agassi since I really want to see him advance and he did. But that was a great game though, probably the best I've seen this year. And I kind feel sorry for Baghdatis when he's cramping on the duices, it was like 8 duices for that point and he didn't get to sit down to rest before the point is over, if that was me, i would've just give up that point.

He defiantly could have won which would have been a great win for him considering he had to play against Agassi and twenty thousand NY lunatics( in a good way ) at night. The fact is Agassi is unseeded and could have played Federer in the first round if things fell that way when they picked the draw. If you were Baghdatis I am sure he is upset, but he will be mentally tougher for playing in a match like that.

Baghdatis played an excellent match against Andre Agassi. He had a chance to play against someone who is considered to be one of the tennis legends. I think we will see more of Baghdatis. He is young and plays his heart out on the court. As far as playing Andre, that's the luck of the draw.

He is an excellent player. It is unfortunate that he had to play Agassi during Agassi's last U.S. Open. Agassi is giving maybe the most amount of effort that he has ever given in his career. And anyone who plays him right now is in for a very tough match. Someone like Federer could easily beat him now though. But someone like Nadal could easily beat Federer too! There is no true king of tennis right now no matter what anyone says. Federer was supposed to be but there is a man out there that keeps him in check and his name is Nadal. But Agassi is playing over his own head right now. Expect the old man to take a beating.

I thought he was being a bit melodramatic about his muscle cramps, and I also found his chest pumping to be a bit barbaric, and annoying.
However, after watching him lose graciously, and hearing the respectful words he had towards Agassi, he has won me over as a fan.
Truthfully, Baghdatis is lucky to have made it into the 5th set. Agassi could've won it in straight sets, and SHOULD'VE won it in 4. Baghdatis is a talented player, and will be a great champion in the future, but he needs to be more consistent, and also needs to get off to better starts in his matches.

He's a good player; an average would have given up after being down 2 sets. It was a match for the ages; standard policy is the ranked players play unranked players in the early rounds. Andre would rather not have had such a tough opponent so soon.

well 1st of all it was agassi and 20,000+ fans vs baghdatis so it was totally unfair, then again agassi should retire with a bang
