umm, without an actual question to go on, I'll just ramble...

"heiroglyph"-meaning "sacred carving" is the name given to the form of writing of the Ancient Egyptians. There were several thousands symbols, some representing single sounds ("a, e, i, o, u" etc.), some representing double sounds ("ae, ou, ai" etc), some representing whole words, and some representing ideas.

Scholars wondered for years what the 'sacred writing' meant, until Captain Pierre-Francois Bouchard, in the army of Napoleon Bonaparte, discovered a large black rock with writing in heiroglyphics, demotic Egyptian (common writing), and koine Greek (the language of the Ptolemaic rulers of Egypt).

The Rosetta Stone was fully translated from 1822-1824 by Jean-Francois Champollion, who based his work on the 1814 work of Thomas Young, who worked at the British Museum.

The Ancient Egyptians referred to their writings as "medew-netjer"--"divine words"

This is most likely what you're going to get whenever you ask someone about "heiroglyphics". However, there are several other well known types, such as the Anatolian, Cretan, Mayan, and Mi'kmaq.

Yes? Most of them are in Kemetic, so even if you can translate them--you'd better know how to translate Kemetic to English.
