I know it may not be fair, but that is the way it is. Women carry babies. Period.
If the woman is willing to have the baby and give it to the father then that is a good thing. If the woman is willing to have the baby and keep it for herself then that is a good thing. If the woman chooses to abort the baby even tho the man wants it, then I'm sorry, but she has that choice as it is her body.
You do have to realize that even in this day and time a woman is risking her life with every baby she carries. Should males have the right to demand that a woman die in order to give them a child? What if the child too dies? Would you give up your life for a child who may or may not live?
Just a little additional food for thought.......

This is something I think about often. The father does not have any rights at all. Even after the children are born, the father's rights are limited. I understand that most people will argue while the child is in the mother's womb, it is still a part of her body. It is very difficult, when a child is indeed in the woman's body. I believe that the child is living from the moment of conception, and therefore is a separate human being. I think that fathers should have more rights, but there are many reasons this couldn't work. A man can't make a woman get an abortion, once the baby is there it's there. Personally, I don't believe in abortion at all, but if a woman is allowed to have an abortion, then I think if the father wants her to have one, she should have to as well. This sounds cruel, but if abortion is an option at all, why is it fair that only the mother can decide? If she doesn't want the baby, she can just get it slaughtered, but if she does want it, the man is stuck paying child support. I truly believe that everyone should take responsibility involving all pregnancies. Because there is such a high rate of un married parents, and single parents, I don't think fathers will ever have even close to the same rights that mother's do.

A good question. Funny how the law is, not funny ha ha but weird I guess. Yes we all know that only women can carry a child. That's not even a question, that's been understood since the beginning of time. The question in my mind is this, how is that if a women chooses she can just drop the baby off at any hospital, fire department, police department or just get a abortion if she does not want the child and the man has no stay so what so ever but just let a man say that that he does not want anything to do with the child, then he becomes a dead beat dad, the lowest thing possible on earth.

because we are the ones who carry the baby in our bodies and take all the risks, and women are usually the pcp's by that i mean the primary care provider , while i do not support abortion unless it's a med. thing such as rape ,incest or other major problems i do support the woman's right to choose , and if the mother doesn't want the child but chooses to carry it to full term she can give up her rights and give the baby to you , or i any one else if u do not want the child u can always walk away and sign over your rights, however if u are un-married the wife doesn't have to ask ur permission for a abortion and although she is under a moral obligation to tell u about the pregnancy ,she is not required too ,and even if she is legally obligated to ask ur permission on abortion ,there are ways u can get around that,

Well, having carried children in my womb, I can tell you it was one of the least fun things I ever did for 40 weeks. I don't know exactly why it's like this, really. The law seems to protect womens' rights above mens' in this case, and that makes me think. You know how so many men don't pay child support? Well, if women were forced to carry every child a man wanted her to, there would probably be as many pregnant women commiting suicide. It's her body, whether or not it's his child.

the father definitely should have a say,i dont agree with abortion so if the mother doesn't want the child assuming they are not married she can give the rights to the dad after the baby is born,if the mom wants the baby and not the dad just release him of any rights to the baby, if a couple is married get counseling

Well your question is only addressing one side of the story. There are instances where the mother needs to abort the baby because of legitimate health reasons and the fact that SHE has to carry the baby to term gives her the right. However if they are two consenting adults who know the consequences of unprotected sex then I say they both have the responsibility in that case.

Hey fella it is time to help make some laws change...are you up for it or just a lot of talk...The woman does have to carry the baby that is why the law is on her side about the abortion thing. Sorry
pal...men can't carry the baby yet...but laws can be changed so
perhaps this is one you can.

His knowledge that his sperm is cause for the pregnancy. Whether or not a child ultimately results from it's conception will depend many factors: religion, desire, age, health, love, finances even. However, the fact remains...that regardless of the desire to carry to term or to terminate by either donor (egg and sperm) the pregnancy is occuring in her body...not his. Laws provide for support of an eventual child...not for his or her reluctance to continue the 'pregnancy'.

Well, unfortunately it's her body and she has the right to choose what to do. No, I don't think it's fair. The father should have rights too. If it's the other way around it doesn't make any difference. She can still do what she wants regardless of his feelings about it. It's not really fair but that's the way it is.
