I have just been reading some of the questions and answers on whether marijuana is dangerous or benificial. It seems to me that in general those who don't smoke it say it is dangerous whether they know anything about it or not and those who do smoke it say it is benificial. It seems to me everyone is missing the most important point. As a smoker I do not criticis non smokers for not smoking marijuana so why do non smokers criticise me for smoking it? Surley the should just **** off and mind their own business.

The illegal status of mj has nothing to do with the threat to public health, and everything to do with the influence of special interests. Pot prohibition does NOT work any better than alcohol prohibition did when they tried it.

The biggest difference is that mj isn't 10% the risk to the public-health that alcohol presents.

If people driving under the influence of mj posed a real problem, you'd hear about it. Auto accidents that involve mj rarely (if ever) do not also involve alcohol. Several studies have proven that the effect of mj (and only mj) on driving is negligible, if it can be measured at all.

Most daytime auto-accidents involve one or more drivers with caffeine in their systems - logic demands a caffeine prohibition, and a relaxation of the mj restrictions.

I am a seasoned smoker of marijuana and i'm not sure any more if making it legal is the answer! It can trigger mental health problems if a person is pre-dissposed to mental health problems.
It does make yo forgetfull and smoking anything is no good for you! However like anything ellse not physically addictive it can be great in moderation. So yeah there should be more education about it and less misinformation.

Non-smoker. The main danger is the fact that it is being smoked, which tends to a gooey kind of smoke (as far as smoke goes). However, the are ways of using it, other than smoking it, that some claim are better. All and all I think that is beneficial, especially when compared to alcohol. I've seen "barroom brawls" in which alcohol is the main factor...but could you imagine a "pot-room brawl"?

Smoking cigarettes and taking weed are of course both hazardous to your health - for about 40 years I have done both and thought I enjoyed both - weed only occasionally like on rare occasions every few years, cigs 40 or 50 a day. The best thing I have ever done in my life is to have realized my stupidity and given up both permanently - I am happier, healthier and have a chance to live much longer than the way I was going

Marijuana has been scientifically proven to have both harmful and beneficial effects. Some people are msde psychotic by the drug. For others, marijuana exacerbates their underlying mental problem. on the other hand it has been found beneficial to those suffering from multiple sclerosis. So if I were you I would avoid it unless you have MultipleSclerosis.

You may think it is beneficial-especially if you are on a high, but I certainly don't want you driving while inhaling any more than I want a drunk driving while drinking. You can be more of a danger to other people which really is against society's goals.

If the government ever figured out how much money they could make by selling it instead of trying to keep it out of the country...... I used to smoke, but stopped due to my occupation, its really not that bad people, in most cases its better than being drunk and you recover much more quickly.
