Do you believe it these days? Or is it just like American wrestling - all show? Pantomime?

Tried it for a while. Takes great skill, discipline and precision to be good. It fine tunes every muscle and fiber in your body. My conscious just wouldn't allow me to continually pummel another human after a while. Still watch occasionally.

I feel that boxing is the sport that all other sports try to be. While it can be boring at times when there is a bout with fighters with poorly-matched styles (counter-puncher vs counter-puncher), it can also bring a sort of drama where one can pull oneself up from the brink of losing out of sheer will and come out victorious. A good example of this is the first bout between Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo. Corrales was almost down and out, but was able to knock Castillo out after recovering.

I don't care for boxing, I think it is a very lowly form of 'entertainment.' Boxing is regarded as a genuine sport, unlike WWF wrestling!! However, I do think some boxers take pay-offs to throw matches. So, I don't believe all matches are 'real'- so I'm with you in that respect.

I think it is the STUPIDIEST thing I have ever laid eyes on. Why is it even called a sport. People are shocked when they hear about Romans sitting in the Colosseum 2000 years ago watching men fight lions and tigers and how inhumane and backwards it was. Well, how different is this? You're sitting around watching guys punch each other in the face causing broken noses and potential brain damage. Wow! how entertaining!

i think boxing is probably the most brutal sport ever and the potential of getting killed in the ring is enormous. wrestling may be fake yes, but at least the chances of suffering permanant brain damage are somewhat lower in comparison. i think of what happened to michael watson back 1991 and him being confined to a wheelchair and i thought to myself, this is dangerous. i mean, what is so fun about watching someone's fist smash into an opponents skull? none that's what.

I am not sure though Teach if wrestling leads to Alzeimers!

Boxing is a bit of a rough do I think and leads to films like Rocky and Raging Bull. Whereas wrestling is a silly spectacle and leads to films like Nacho Libre (which was funny!!!

I think it is real, not like wrestling. I just don't understand how someone with a family/who is loved could ever do that sport.. Especially women, it must be so painful! Have you ever hit your body on something like a door frame before, it hurts, and that's without malice/intent!!!

I don't understand it - I've always been against hitting and a big advocate of keeping ones hands to ones self.
