When I found out I was pregnant I went to the local health department and they made me take another test it of course came back positive. Then they wrote a note to the doctor and gave me a piece of paper that is like medicaid but it's not offical (it gives you a month to get on medicaid)

When I went to the health dept they charged me $10 to take a pregnancy test. That was 5 years ago though.. I don't know if they charge now or not.

i am in same situation with no insuance. I went to the health dept. with my last bank statement and they charge you by going off of your income level. on my check out paper it said the price was about $70 for a pregnancy test, I payed $2.50. My first baby visit will be $40 for exam. It was better than I thought. Good luck

You need only search your local phone book, several places offer free pregnancy tests. Although, honestly I have two beautiful daughters and I used tests from the $1 store to confirm I was pregnant.

in most places it should be free at the health department. if not free, they will have a sliding pay scale. you fill in your income information and they will base the cost on your ability to pay.
also you might be able to get a test at planned parenthood, the link, or any other pregnancy counseling center in your area. any of these places should be considered confirmed.

Well Katie, they very likely don't charge anything. But if they do, I'm sure it's not very much.

drug stores have the instant ones. Try those first.
call planned parenthood, they should be able to direct you to the proper places.
