in rainsburgh pennsylvania. located in bedford county.
there is a rather secluded mountain.(rainsburgh mt.)
there is a paved road that goes through it but most of the locals seem to avoid it at night.
there have been a few strange happenings on this mountain.
2 of them happened to me.
the first is not related to your question but i will tell it just because i can..
when i was in high school i would usually go to my girlfriends house after school for a few hours. i lived an hour form the school
in one direction and she lived an hour in the other. so it made sense to go see her when i was already halfway there.
usually i would travel through black valley to get home but on one friday night the upper bridge in everett PA was closed. so i went up to bedford to go out through rainsburgh. i knes that the locals always stayed away from the mountain at n ight but i never knew why. noone talked about it. rainsburgh is a spooky town in a "leave it to beaver" kind of way. it is just too peacful there..
anyhow i left my girlfriends house at exactaly 8:30 just in time to make it home by my curfew. i was driveing a 1972 chevy Nova that was a tad bit beefed up. (a high 12 second to mid 13 second street car) i did not stop anywhere on the way home. it atkes the same amount of time to go through rainsburgh as it does to go through black valley (give or take 10 minutes)
as i said i did not stop anywhere and i was driveing th speed limit the whole way. i could remember the entrie trip and what i saw along the way..however when i got home it was almost 5:00 in the morning. i called several radio stations and checked multiple clocks. the time was accurate.
*************************************************************
a few years after that a friend of mine (a devout mormon) from a devout mormon family. i cannot even go into how straight laced these people are. they claimed money earned from a yard sale on their taxes and paid tithing on it...the entire family has a reputation as being honest to a fault.
her father was a former police officer. he showed me video tape of a hunting trip that he took on rainsburgh mountain. he had footprints in the snow.. they were 21 inches long and had a stride of 15 feet at a run and 9 feet at a walk. this equates to a critter that is 12 to 14 feet tall with 6 foot legs.
he tracked it to a cliffside and was able to zoom out to the bottom of the cliff ...the tracks resumed there..he was unable to follow.
i believe that this is a real account. the man has no reason to lie at all. and would not lie in any case anyway.
sorry that it is not a little more exciteing than some missing time and a videotape but as far as the truth it is the best that i can give you...

I believe in these creatures, but I do not have a personal account. I believe that there are creatures in the that are not documented and unknown, even here in the United States.
I once watched a TV show on the Discovery Channel, the History Channel, or the Travel Channel on Cryptozoology. It talked about how in an area of Africa (I think) the natives told tales of a gigantic ape, but the white explorers and researchers didn't believe them and chalked it up to ignorant superstition. Then in the 1930s, they found the gigantic ape species and the disbelievers were proven wrong.

Why is it so hard for some people to believe that there are undiscovered animal species, like Big Foot? I personally believe that anything is possible, and that Big Foot is the missing link relating humans to animals.

Considering that most legends have a basis in fact, why not? They sure make the 'what if' factor in life a little more interesting.

I think it's quite possible. They may be human creatures that have not evolved.
