shouldn't be a problem, just make sure you use a high factor sunblock on the scars. If in doubt ask your doc.

I would suggest that you limit your sun exposure to no more than 20 minutes, and avoid the sun between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Use a sunscreen with an SPF of 30. This advice would apply to anyone, even someone without recent surgery. It has been proven that excessive suntanning can lead to skin cancer, and even if one escapes that dreadful disease, too much sun will give you wrinkles, sagging skin and age spots when you get older. It's not worth it. I used to be a sun worshipper myself, but for the past several years, my tan comes from a bottle --self tanner.
