Jordan's an top athelete, a great team leader, a top competitor and a winner, not just the best baller.
Kobe's Kobe.
He's changed his number but unless he change his game, he ain't gonna get anywhere near MJ.

i do!.....here is my prediction. i promise you i hav not read any answers. BUT. there will be 14yr old kids who wont even remember seeing the real jordan pay saying stuff like, 'he could never be as good as jordan hes selfish...blah blah blah.' also. there will be people who just focus on the Rape Trial. Then there may be some people talking about kobe 'breaking up a dynasty'
but here is what i think.
jordan the best at them moment, kobe has a little way to go, especialy on defence, a couple more rings a bit more help in the frontcourt and kobe will surpass jordan as the greatest guard ever. BUT you will still get people who dont have a clue what they are talking about jumping on the bandwagon.
!go lakers!

Kobe needs to be the *leader* of at least 4 more championships. Individual stats like 81 pts in a game will not make him "best ever." It only shows he could score.
He needs help from the Lakers management, LOTS of help. Sadly Mitch Kupchak is no Jerry West and Dr. Buss seems to have lost his mind.
Even worse, although Kobe is young, he is starting to get injured and need surgeries. How much time he has to achieve this is shortening.

I do beside look at the NBA All Times Recerd at Kobe Bryant he mostly beat every who scored the most points in a single games except Whilt Chamberline 100pts in a single games and Bryant beat most of Wilts recerd except Wilt Chamberlin 100 pts and I think Kobe could pass MJ as the best guard ever

Who named Michael Jordan the "best guard ever"?
And no, Kobe is not even close to being the best guard of all time!

he is mighty close because because Jordan had hi best years after 28 and Kobe is just 27 and is in the lead when you do it by years,Kobe will have better numbers but remember that Jordan play time was interrupted trice because of retirement so what you should make the comparison off is the achievements thy have after their careers are over

Even though I am a Lakers fan, I do believe it will take alot more than just a high scoring game to pass michael jordan.

so?
big frickin whoop, an 81 point game
sure, its a big number
but does it equal six championships?
no
Jordan held greatness for a long time
Kobe did in one game
congrats Kobe, 81 points is great, but its nothing close to six championships
