I have an ability. I can write a poem about anything and it doesn't take me long to write one. Every verse i write rhymes. I can write poetry on tap about anything or for anything. Is there such thing as a poetry competition in U.K and how do i go about it

You could get a few poems published in magazines like Cicada, or write your own poetry book and get that published, etc. The latter option will take longer, but possibly more profitable in the long run. Friends and family appreciate getting books of poetry and seeing your name in print. The other answers on this page are good ideas, too, so don't stop here!

There are many online poetry contests. I was actually looking at some, and there are a few that i found in the U.K. Just keep practicing poetry so you can get better at it, and share it in contests and share it with your close family members and friends. Good luck!!!

you could write out a small book and go on the street and hand them out. Leave an email address in the booklet of poetry so people can tell you what they think. Get people that like it and sell the next booklet for some profit. Just a thought.

There is this website for aspiring poets and songwriters to post their work. It is called Its only words.com. There you can post all your poetry for others to see and perhaps publish. Good luck with your writing.

in america, we have poetry "slams" which might appreciate your talent (some even have cash and other prizes!). you might look into rap, as well - it sounds as if you could freestyle well. other than this, poetry is rather overlooked, these days, at least in the USA.
