The 80's was the Dark Ages of music. The most worthless music I've ever heard in my life, Pantera and such. Today's music isn't any better though. Your best chance for decent music is from the 50's and some from the 60's, but mostly just the 50's.

MTV came along in the early 80's and it's been downhill from there (with a few exceptions, of course).

there's too much money to be made for record executives now a days. They don't care about muisc. They care about what makes them money. They have no reason to take a risk on a band with real talent who doesn't look sexy.

The 80's was the beginning of the end, even for good bands that had been around in the seventies.

I will agree to a point, I don't care much for the 90s stuff..... gets kinda techo-whiney. Bands like Metallica and Nirvana are awesome though. I love Journey, Def Leppard, Black Sabbath... the list goes on.

I totally agree. Although some of today's music is alright. But even eariler then the 80's we can't forget the ones that really rocked, lick Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and so on!

I definitely agree with you. Today's music just isn't the same. Maybe because it's so much more commercial now.
