Shogun Assassin! Referenced by Tarantino in Kill Bill 2, though this film is merely an introduction to the Lone Wolf and Cub series, all of which are worth looking into...
I got Zombie Flesh Eaters just to see a Zombie vs. Shark fight, but found it disappointing.
Cannibal Apocolypse was better, but still just a shock fest, not a truly enjoyable film.
Of course no discussion of the DPP list would be complete without a mention of The Evil Dead, but that film is more or less mainstream now.

It's more a "DVD Nasty"!
8mm with Nicholas Cage.
I'd never seen a movie about making a "snuff" movie. The acting of Nic Cage had me at the edge of my seat. I found the whole experience horrific (but absurdly fascinating at the same time)!
