i have been searching for over an hour and still think its expensive there so can you help or suggest somewhere there that is not so expensive ?

WHen I travel I stay in hostels which are much cheaper than hotels. You share a room, and, if you want, can cook your meals there, although some also have restaurants or cafes on the premises. Here's the sites for 2 houseboat hostels

I like IYH hostels...here's the web site, although this one didn't get as high a rating as the houseboats. However, they have rooms with only 2 beds, which may be what you want.

Hi,,, there is a flop house ,,, hostile called the Pig Pen or something like that,,, it is not far from the downtown train depot... across the bridge,, to the right ,, 2nd street on the left and walk down......
