I'm not trying to be sexist but this seems like a field where no woman belongs. I'm not questioning her knowledge of the sport or anything else. To me it seems similiar to a woman refereeing a men's basketball game.

No, but listening to Mike Gottfried announce with her annoyed me. He could put you to sleep.

Pam Ward's been doing football games for about 10 years, so exactly which cave have you been hiding in again?

It's more annoying that Penn State is playing Akron, and can't seem to find the time to schedule their old rival Pittsburgh on any regular basis. Then again, they might have a chance to lose to Pitt, and we can't have a loss in the BCS world. So much more important to beat up on nobodies than actually play somebody.

Uh, you're not trying to be sexist? If she knows her stuff, she should get the job. Women work for Sportscenter all the time, and not just because they're hot. Linda Cohn does a great job, and she's ugly as hell. There's a woman who does broadcasts for the New York Yankees, and she's pretty good at it.

And yes, Violet Jones is a terrible referee (in the NBA), but I don't think she's terrible because she's a woman. I just think she's terrible. If the woman at Penn State is BAD at her job, then she shouldn't be allowed to continue. But if she's not bad, then her sex shouldn't matter.

Don't know where ESPN found either one of those stiffs!! How long has that guy been dead & why hasn't anybody buried him? The woman acted like she was waiting for a bus instead of broadcasting a game. Maybe next week, they can dig up Tricky Dick Nixon , he has to be more lively than those two!

Hmm, I dont really understand, but then again I am a woman. I guess growing up in Nebraska where children are born with footballs in their hands, and every girl either plays softball or baseball, when shes not playing football with her brothers of course, I guess I just dont fit into the normal girl category. Good luck on your quest though

Men coach and referee womens games in all sports all the time.
I don't see a conflict with a woman coaching or refereeing a men's game if she knows her job and what she is talking about.
I would say to you "Get over it".
