Use Activity Monitor (located in Applications > Utilities). Click on the System Memory tab near the bottom. You can also monitor several things by changing the Activity Monitor's dock icon. Also, check the apple site. They have a bunch of widgets for monitoring your computer's resources, such as iStat, if you prefer using Dashboard.
