It should be interchangeable but the 2500 truck had a much heavier duty axel in it than the new ones plus the gearing and differintial setup is differnt the 2500 axel probally had lower gears and a posi-locking diff.. as long as the axels are the same lenght and the pring and shock mounts are in the same place it will work...I would recommend finding one out of a newer model 2500series chevy truck

As above mentioned the main probably reason, yet right here is yet another element that happens to me... Brakes frequently swell interior the rain, each and every each and every now and then inflicting lockups once you first start up out interior the driveway, interior the morning. Throwing it in opposite each and every each and every now and then unsticks it, making a clunking noise. you do not might desire to, and should not, brake the spinning wheel. extremely, you may desire to easily permit off the gas. The wheel will end quickly sufficient, providing you with a plenty smoother (safer) circulation than braking.

Measure the width of axle perches and wheel clearance for brake rotors. Should work. Be careful if you have 4x4, the gears may be different from front to back.

They should work, but are they both 3/4 ton? Call: 1-800-LMC-TRUCK You can get a catalog from them and it lists all the different gear ratioes, etc. This way you will have your own future reference.
