Your 2007 6.0 liter diesel does not require the use of the ultra low sulfur fuel. The U.S. fuel suppliers are in the process of changing the fuel over as we speak. By next year at this time, all on road diesel will be ultra low sulfur. The 2008 model 6.4 liter powerstroke will require the new fuel, but by the time it is released, all fuel will have changed. On-road regular diesel out of the pump at your local station, not off-road diesel, will be what you use in your 6.0 liter.

By October 15, 2006 ALL USA retail diesel stations must be selling the new ULSD (Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel) 15ppm fuel. Some have already started doing so. The labels on the pumps (required as of June 1 this year) tell you what the fuel is. Look around, and you should find stations selling the new ULSD.
All existing diesel engines can use the new ULSD fuel. Some 2007 model year engines have been modified to better perform with this new fuel, and so may not perform as well if you use the still existing LSD 500 ppm fuel while it lasts.
Sulfur provides a lubricant quality to fuel, and other additives are being used to provide this. There is also about a 1% reduction in energy - and a reduction in fuel mileage unless other engine changes are made.
This is an EPA regulation, and the 2007 model year warning on pumps still selling LSD 500ppm may or may not be relevant depending on the manufacturer, but they had to state the warning just in case.
There are more EPA particulate requirements coming in later years as well.

Diesel engines are very foregiving you could run (off highway farm diesel if you wanted to) the only difffernce is the amount of smoke your going to get and when the engine was dynoed at the factory it was probally tested with that type of fuel if you could get the cylinder temp high enough a diesel would burn pure motor oil..I work for Caterpillar they have the new CAT ACERT engine that your supposed to run ultra low sulfur fuel in our customers are still running regular old agricultural diesel in these brand new machines they run fine

you can but just don't get caught by the police its a ticket. blows out really thick black smoke .The quote "High Sulpher Diesel" is for agg and off road use only and has a red dye put in it. You do not want to use this in your truck as there is a $10K fine for doing so.

yes, but only for an emergency, then go back to regular - add a gallon of high test which will make it run smoother as well.
