Empire Strikes Back
First, the original cast was untouchable. Second, it had all the elements of a great story - the rash apprentice, the friends in danger, the amazing scene on Hoth, and the ending left you wishing it would just keep going. Plus, we all know the story now - but that one scene "I am your father" was powerful. It caught a lot of people by surprise when it first came out.

Empire Strikes Back - without a doubt. One of the first films I remember seeing on the big screen. It's dark themes , Yoda and the Luke/Vader scene are unbeatable.

Ep:V Empire is, in my humble opinion, the best by far. I mean, from beginning to end the good guys lose. You don't see that often in any film. Plus, the music is awesome; it never stops playing! Mos def recommended for a rainy day.

arghhhhh!!!!!! I have 5 males of varying ages in my home and this is my arch nemesis!!!!!! Anyway, I did a pole of those in the room with me now and here is this family's answer - it used to be return of the Jedi cos it was full cycle. evil defeated, calm to the galaxy blah blah blah. Now tho, it is part 3, Revenge of the Sith cos it links the two parts together and makes the whole story complete. Yawn yawn..............They are good, I cant deny, but its like star wars land in my house!!!!

Well i have only ever seen the first one, so i will say that one!
By the way could you tell me in which order they go, the first one i saw today, was called "Star wars, a new hope", which one is 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc.... As i would like to see them in order! Thanx!

I agree with arcane. EMPIRE. visually the best, very dark, and the best soundtrack. also my favourite ending to a film. The look on Landos face when he gets back in the Falcon blatently says 'im so glad han is frozen in carbonite'

III, Revenge of the Sith. Why? Because it involves Separatists (which I love), General Grievous (my favorite character), and very good battle scenes and other good interesting action times at parts (like Order 66)

The first one. Usually nothing is ever as good as the original.
I especially thought that the last three movies even though they were first in the story, they tried too hard with the movies and they just weren't all that well done in my opinion.

Episdoe III. Partly because it was better than the other two prequals but mainly because it has all the elements that made 4-6 great, and does those things better than them!
