no a normal cd player can't read a dvd because dvd's are written with a very thin laiser beam which is too hard for normal cd player to read

Nearly all computers made in the last 3 years or so contain players capable of playing DVD's. Often you can't tell by looking at the outside, so use the Windows Control Panel (or equivalent in other operating systems) to see what's really there. Beyond that, if the DVD contains a movie, you'll need software capable of showing movies. That's usually the hard part.

No; that's why they distinguish between CD player and DVD player, and why you have an option to have a CD or CD/DVD player.

No, it can't. You need a dvd drive; dvd-rom or dvd+/-rw

no it was not desighned to generate pictures you have to add the drive
