I ahve a wall unit and when it is on cool low it always freezes over but while on high cool it doesn't , what could this mean and is there anything I can do?

You definitely have a problem. That white ice is freon. It sounds like the whole ac needs replaced. I just had the furnace and ac replaced. Call someone who is listed in The Better Business Bureau. Contact me for more information.

Lack of air flow causes the unit to freeze up. The unit is trying to remove the same amount of heat at the same rate whither it's at high or low speed. Open all the registers, make sure the return register is not blocked, replace the filter and make sure the filter isn't a real thick one. The thicker the filter the more air flow it will restrict and make sure the blower cabinet isn't dirty either.

Try cleaning it real good. Inadequate air flow across the coil will result in icing. Improved air flow should solve the problem with this unti.

I would leave it run on high. There may be something wrong with the unit, and you might have to call a repair man.

the unit is very dirty insid remove from wall take housing off and hose down. let dry very very well then re-install
