It's a commercial world and they're just trying to sell product. More hits on their sites yields more advertising dollars. Ca..ching.. Ca..ching$$$

Yahoo search is pretty good. Wikipedia is limited at times. By having the research option in the bottom of the page, I don't lose the page with the question and find a lot of difficulty in retrieving it. It's convenient and it's right there. With google, you have to go to internet site and access google.it's a longer process.

Yahoo does that to make it easy for people to search and it is best economically for them to get you to use Yahoo to search. They are not ruffians, they are business people!
I know that I prefer people tell me where they got the answer, even if that is life experience.

i agree somewhat but still its a lot more convenient to go look up words on dictionary.com instead of going and getting a dictionary
