Yes. People would be more productive if there were no tv. T.V. warps the mind. It can cause laziness. These computers do the same thing though. Most people should get out and do more outdoor activities. Me included. Even reading more can be very productive on the mind. I love to read. lol
What's your obsession with obesity? just wonderin. lol

This is something that I've wondered about myself. There are definitely pros and cons to the invention of the TV, with one of the cons being that people have become addicted to watching rubbish TV.
Mind you, you could ask a similar question about the invention of the computer and the internet, as I know that at times I spend more time than is necessary on this thing!

They did the same thing with radio, just sitting around listening instead of watching and listening. Besides, in this case productive is such a subjective word. Nukes, tanks, cars etc were all made before television. Each one is arguably progress and yet is arguably the denigration of society as well. I surmise that we would have even more progress/foolishness without the distraction of TV.

Nope. Things like television can't be blamed for people's problems. People need to control their habits and do things in moderation instead of trying to find something or someone else to blame.

I agree. TV is not a very productive machine. We'd be much better off without it. But what about Yahoo! Answers?
