If I could, I'd go to the Washington D.C. Memorial, but sadly I can't at the moment.

a day to remember but life still goes on

It's sad that those lives were lost so tragically. I don't mean to be too polemical but I would not go as far as to say Bush has no fault whatsoever in the tragedy. I'm not saying he is responsible, either, ok? But let's just remember that if there was one person who benefited most from the tragedy, that was him. He had not been elected president, he did not have support from Congress, his popularity level was a joke. I had never seen someone rise from the bottom of the well to national hero in such a short period. He changed the situation in a matter of days.

Am I lying?

We are a Military family stationed in Italy, so we will attend the memorial ceremony their having at the base chapel. It's defiantly not just another day to us, and I doubt it ever will be.
Like you, I would love to attend the Washington D.C. Memorial. Maybe my husband and I can take our children to that after we move back home to the States.

Not to get side tracked but it is not George Bush's fault that terrorists crashed planes five years ago.

I am not going to do anything obvious but the day will affect me. I will think about what happened to all of those innocent people that day and I will be thankful we have not had other attacks so far and I will pray that these things are stopped in the future.

It has to be a day of remembering, crying a little, and moving forward. It has to instill the momentum to work together for the understanding. I do feel too many Americans blame all Muslims for what happened. Only a few are terrorists. And, too many fanatical Muslims blame the USA for all their troubles. It is a vicious circle we cannot seem to break. G-d help us all.

I'll probably be hung-over from all of the Grandparent' Day partying the night before.

Try to avoid all the flag waving and false patriotism that will surely abound.

Just another day. It was our own country or politicians that pissed off the Muslems and got them to hate us.
