Latin refers to a language group that includes Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian. While there are people of many racial groups that speak these languages, people who are descended from Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian ancestors are considered both Latin and white. If you are black and speak Spanish it does not make you Spanish any more that a white man that learns to speak Zulu would be a Zulu.
