I don't think it makes much difference if you lose your virginity before or after marriage. I think the only problem would be that if you lost your virginity to another, your new spouse might harbor some jealous feelings toward the previous lover and that may cause problems in the relationship.

I think this is a personal decision for a mature adult to make.

When people say this does that mean a 40 year old man with no prospects for getting married should never have an intimate relationship...or should he get married just so he can?

There are billions of people in the world & no one answer for everyone.

THAT is a personal choice. Your first time should be with someone who is special to YOU. Not because your friends think you should lose it to satisfy themselves. It's your body, and no one has control over it but you.

Why not? It keeps you from a lot of bad situations (unwanted pregnancy, disease, embarrassment). You also will get to share an incredible intimacy with your husband/wife later. :)

It's not for me but other people can. I wouldn't like that becasue what if you're a virgin and then you get married and you can't satisfy eachother, that would suck.

I don't think sex is wrong so long as the two really love each other. marriage is a lifestyle.

Your marriage will be better off if you do.

Old saying that needs revival: Good things are worth waiting for.
