Are you sure the discharge isn't brownish red? Ask you mom. She will know. The signs of getting your period is simple...you will most likely have hair in the "area" and have to shave under your arms. if you have that you probably have your period, but like i said tlak to your mom/dad.

Your best bet would be to talk to your mom or grandma, or any other woman in your family. Or even not in your family. Talk to a friends' mom. Talk to the school nurse. It is completely normal to be getting your period at the age of 10. I got my period at the age of 9!

When I first got my period, I noticed when I went to get changed in Gym class, that my underwear had a dark redish spot on it. Knowing what it was, thanks to my mom talking to me about it, I decided not to go to Gym. I did not have any pain associated with my first period, or any periods at all until I was 16, but that was due to some other medication I was on.

But again, your best bet would be to talk to an older woman you can trust. This might be an older sister or mother, or any woman you can trust.
