they say i can do some batch rename from windows xp is that true and how?

Go to the folder with all the files you want to rename, or put them all in the same folder. Press the Control key and the A key at the same time to select all of the files. Right click on one of them and rename "firstbatch.jpjg" for example and then hit Enter. All the files will recieve the same name with a numbering scheme to differentiate them. Works well.
