why do they disect frogs?

Are you a vegan/ Vegetarian? etc - If no longer you probable at lots of what you will see once you disect a frog. think of fowl!!! skin, bones, muscle mass, organs (ok perhaps you do no longer consume many fowl organs yet they're probable put in the meats which contain bologne, sausage, salami, etc.

how can you know what a heart looks like and how its connected and plumbed

how can you see how it all goes together

frogs are cheap and people don't bond to them like they do mammals, so they make good dissection subjects

of course, nowadays, you could probably provide a virtual experience that would be, in some ways, more educational than the actual frog cutting

Dissecting frogs is a standard in grammar school and high school biology classes to illustrate anatomy. Frogs are chosen because they are usually large enough to see internal organs without magnification, and they are plentiful. In higher-level bio classes, fetal pigs are commonly used.
