As a fan of the series I noticed that this unique survival horror turns into a boring carnage. In "R.E.4" there aren´t even zombies anymore which made the games so unique! In part 1, you were in a silent mansions with a few weapons, some enemies and many riddles which created this survival horror situation.
Now "R.E." is about a the conspiracy of Umbrella, huge mutants even fighting each other (like in the second movie) but this creeping ambiance of the first three games is gone. But this atmosphere of darkness, silence and fear made the games. I think it is a shame that the horror turns into science fiction now and fighting zombies or hunters in this dark mansion was scarier than encountering big mutants all the time.
What is your opion on this?

I have only played the first three ones but I consider buying the 4th one for PC when it is available. So I read a preview of it and learned that there are no more zombies, far too much weapons, guy rampaging with a chainsaw, huge mutants....doesn´t look to good, because this is not the "R.E." as it should be.

I agree, I wanted to play RE4 but read the description & all that online and it didn't spark my interest. No zombies? That's what defines the game!!

I've not played any of the old ones but I did enjoy RE4 a lot. Seems like you're on to something though. I jumped quite a bit while playing 4 and if the old ones were scarier then they must've been better.

Yes I know huh?

Resident evil is one of my favorite games but since dead aim,out brake, resident evil 4, I am rethinking that.

I think they are trying different things and trying to improve the games but instead the are making them worse.
