Spousal support is designed to provide temporary relief until the dependent spouse is capable of earning enough money to survive on their own. The receiving spouse has an obligation to use that time while on spousal support to prepare for gainful employment.
Spousal support (unlike child support) may be reduced or eliminated based on the spouses family income.

spousal support is normally given when a divorce has taken place and that is just temporary until the person is able to support themself..most states are different...I would seek an attorney for legal counseling....

You would have to check the laws in your area... Many times spousal support is stipulated to events or time frames(graduating college, children's ages, remarriage, ect.) Check the stipulations of the decree and consult an attorney...

If your ex wanted to push it since, technically your live in boyfriend would be helping you live. But usually it only stops after remarriage, or when the time alloted for it to be paid is up.

You would have to contact an attorney on this one. Usually after they marry, you don't have to continue to pay. You will just have to check out what the rules in your state are.
