write her a letter, and you can include some or all of these things:
* why you are glad she's your mother
* what you like best about her
* a memory of a past vacation, or birthday celebration - that you two had a good laugh or something special that you shared together.

Buy her a card. and some flowers from a grocery store. If that's still to expensive just get one of these things.A card or flowers.

buy some beads and make her a bracelet or necklace. it's really easy and inexpensive. even if you are older, it's fine to make jewelry for your mom.
