I would want to go back to the Beginning.
Stop Eve from tempting Adam to take a bite
out of that darn Apple.
We all would still be living in PARADISE!!!!
Everything else in history would have never happened.
I'd like to add - houdini is right - he speaks from the heart.
This question is really hard to answer. There are so many
people that have their own reason to want to change history,
but we can't - all we can do is make sure the future is going
to be a better place to live in (for all mankind) than the past.

I would have the Roman Empire sail and explore Africa. The result: The Africans could fight off the roman empire and take the technology or develop some of their own by reverse engineering it or the empire would share technology and then a civilization could still prosper without the Germans destroying all the technological advances. Basically I would want the Romans to explore farther and put little strong holds of their civilization so that it could still live on farther than the Byzantines did.
